Jennylee Hall was born in Swindon in 1950 and has spent most of her life in the area, is married to John and has two grown up sons and one grandchild. The history of Swindon is important in her life, coming from a long line of Swindonians, her grandfather was Stage Manager at the Empire Theatre back in the 1950’s, he also put on shows at The Mechanics’ for several local theatre companies. Jennylee has an enormous amount of historical information regarding the Swindon Theatres, which was left to her by her grandfather, much has been donated to the Swindon Museum. She has worked in the care sector most of her working life, helped establish the Playgroup at Freshbrook back in 1980’s and spent the last 10 years working for a home visiting Opticians based in Swindon, where she has worked as an Exhibitions and Events Co-ordinator.
Preserving the heritage of Swindon is her passion, she works in her spare time as The Clerk to The Trustees of a Swindon Church and is currently Chairperson of the “Children’s Fete” Committee. Jennylee has been a Trustee for the Mechanics’ Trust for the last 9 Years.
