Thank you to our Volunteers!
This National Volunteers’ Week, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to all our dedicated volunteers. Whether they’re supporting our gardening projects; archiving and conservation work; providing event support; sharing their knowledge or so much more! Their work makes a real and lasting impact in helping us to preserve what matters to our community.

Our Gardening Volunteers recently finished installing a new bench and planters under the trees on Taunton Street, near the Central Community Centre in Emlyn Square. You can find out more about their project here.
What is Volunteers’ Week?
Running every year since 1984, the week provides a crucial opportunity to thank volunteers and recognise the value of their time, passion and skills. The campaign highlights the diversity and unity of volunteer work across the UK. You can learn more about Volunteers’ Week here.
It’s a moment to shine a light on the time, passion and dedication they give, often behind-the-scenes, to help others and strengthen their local communities.
Swindon Heritage Preservation are joining thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the valuable contribution volunteers make across the UK.
Want to get involved?
We’re always looking for more passionate volunteers to help us with a wide variety of events, activities and initiatives. Whether you have a few hours to space or can commit to a regular role, there’s a place for you in our Volunteer’s team!
If you’ve ever thought about volunteering, there’s never been a better time to give it a go! Volunteering is a great way to meet new like-minded people, gain new skills and experiences while making a meaningful impact in preserving Swindon’s unique heritage.
